"The winner and still the chomp! Blake Street Tavern blew us away last year with its menu, which includes not only sports-bar staples such as burgers, wings and sandwiches, but some of the best green chile in town. And with the addition of the Underground Social, which converted the vast basement space into a big game room with its own bar filled with craft beers alongside the usual bottled suspects, there are more places than ever to score great food and drink. Bonus points for the private rooms, where your group can give Blake Street's dishes — and, yes, the sporting events on its big TVs — the attention they deserve." ~ Westword

"Best Sports Bar for Playing Games" Best of Westword 2013
Three years ago, the Blake Street Tavern moved from the modest warehouse spot it had occupied for almost seven years to a massive space a block south, with a great back patio, a big bar, an ambitious kitchen, an arcade area and plenty of room to watch games — or just the people around you. And now bigger is becoming even better. Blake Street is moving its arcade area to the basement — which is almost as huge as the first floor — where it will offer bocce, cornhole, shuffleboard, Skee-Ball, basketball, leagues and other fun activities, as well as a bar that can accommodate two dozen beers on draft. That will cement Blake Street's reputation as not only one of the town's best sports bars for watching games, but definitely the best sports bar for playing games. View award »

"The Blake Street Tavern is big fun. At its large, newish home, there are seemingly acres of asphalt where you can party before opening day at Coors Field, just a block away; a huge country-Western dance floor in the basement where you can learn to line dance; a vast arcade area with shuffleboard, Skee-Ball, foosball and Golden Tee; and a huge bar where you can enjoy two happy hours a day while watching the game on an overhead TV. But what pushes Blake Street several notches above other sports bars is how seriously they play the game in the kitchen. The expansive menu offers everything from the standard burgers and wings to manly salads and hearty entrees, as well as kid-friendly meals. But the real surprise is chef Ernesto's top-of-the-town green chile, available in mild, spicy and vegetarian versions." See Award at Westword.com »
The atmosphere, food, and location are great. This is a great place to watch the game because there are televisions located on every wall. The staff are great. The menu offers something for everyone. ~ julie z. | Read more reviews>

"Blake Street Tavern
It's fairly easy to park (except sometimes during Rockiest' games), the TVs are everywhere and intelligently organized into nooks of varying sizes (particularly useful during football season if you are a transplant and want to watch something other than CU or the Broncos), the menu is fresh and tasty, and the waitresses are, well, cute. Need we say more?"
"For the second year in a row, we've named BST as the best place in town to combine eating, drinking and watching the game. And this time around, the readers of Mile High Sports second the motion. These accolades are being heaped on Blake Street Tavern for good reason. Their location at 24th and Blake in the ballpark neighborhood is convenient, to say the least. Their beer selection and drink specials are second to none. And their food, especially the chicken chipotle soup and pulled pork sliders, in unlike conventional "bar food." But the biggest reason we wholeheartedly endorse BST is the game-watching experience. High-resolution, flat-screen TVs cover every wall, and at-table speakers ensures that fans don't miss any of the sounds of the game. There's no better place to watch a game in the Mile High City. Combine that fact with great drinks, amazing food and a stellar location, and it's easy to see why Blake Street Tavern in once again our favorite sports bar in Denver."
